MISSION

T.I.S.I. Sangam Religious & Cultural USA, Inc. is a public nonprofit organization founded in 2002 in Northern California. Our mission is to preserve and enhance the culture of South Indians living in our community.

Today our people of Indian origin represent a sizeable proportion of the population of Fiji-Indians and have made a very significant contribution to society as a whole. T.I.S.I. Sangam Religious & Cultural USA, Inc was established upon the basis of the hopes and dreams of our forefathers, under the leadership of Sadhu Kuppuswamy who strongly believed in the preservation of our religion and culture. With this foundation, T.I.S.I. Sangam Religious & Cultural USA, Inc. was created in 2002 with the hope of bringing together and expanding our community to promote the religious methods and beliefs within ourselves, our youth and our future generations.

GOALS

We are the members and volunteers. T.I.S.I. Sangam Religious & Cultural USA, Inc. schedules monthly meetings of its Executive Board composed of a team of 6 dedicated members. It is this board that has envisioned and set forth the goals of the organization to accomplish the following:

* To build a Temple/Community Center to be one of its kind
* To incorporate a structure to be used as a Cultural Center
* To create and maintain the first Library of our organization
* To establish and secure membership of an estimated 800 South Indians
* To develop a website www.tisisangam.org

Amongst these goals, T.I.S.I. Sangam Religious & Cultural USA, Inc. opens its doors to the Indian community through social meetings and various organizational outings. An Annual Deepawali celebration and Annual New Year celebration are examples of our commitment to gather the community together to unite as one. In addition our organization has participated in the Fijian Festival and other such events to promote ourselves.
